A slew of new Apple products are on the way, according to the latest beta of iOS.
Four new versions of the iPad are referenced in the beta version of iOS 12.2, according to developer Steve Troughton-Smith, who made the discovery. IPads are referred to as iPad 11.1 through iPad 11.4 and include two WiFi versions and two cellular versions.
Troughton-Smith says the iPad models mentioned in the iOS beta don’t match the devices currently on the market. He also explains that the referenced iPads don’t have Face IDs, which leads him to speculate that they could very well be new iPad Mini.
However, a new 10-inch iPad could also be released with a new line of Minis. A report found last week seven new iPad models running ioS 12 had recently received certification from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
There is also mention in iOS 12.2 of an iPod 9.1. MacRumors points out that the current generation of the iPod Touch is called iPod 7.1 which means that a new version of the device may also be available soon.
Rumors are circulating about Apple’s AirPower wireless charging
Troughton-Smith has a long story of to discover new Apple products and updates through beta versions and company development tools. More importantly, his conclusions have often been correct.
Earlier this month, a report said two Apple vendors were producing touchscreens for two new iPads: a new entry-level iPad and a new iPad Mini, which has not seen an update since September 2015. One separate report found that another device that hasn’t been refreshed since 2015, the iPod Touch, would also see a next-gen model come out this year.
Couple with the last Rumors about AirPods 2, he is looking for more and Following as Apple will have some new product announcements to coincide with the official release of iOS 12.2 in the coming months.
