FaceTime will also benefit from Spatial Audio compatibility. In group calls, all participant screens would be grouped together and displayed in a grid view with the speaker box highlighted.
Users will also be able to use Portrait mode during video calls to blur the background. In addition, there are also options to configure the microphone with three modes: standard, voice isolation, and broad spectrum. Users will now be able to invite others using a special web link, even if they are using Windows or Android software.
iPadOS 15 now offers new multitasking features that allow users to customize the way their iPad screen is used. The multitasking menu allows users to create full screen, swipe, split view, and float window in some iPad models. Users can also add widgets for different apps on their home screen. The new software allows users to take notes on any application through a separate notes window that can be invoked by different methods.
Links shared by other users through the Messages app on iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will be classified under the “Shared with you” feature. This functionality is built into Photos, Safari, Apple Music, Apple Podcast, and the Apple TV app. Users can change their Memoji’s clothing, headgear and also add accessibility accessories such as cochlear implants, oxygen tubes and soft helmets. The layout of images in the Messages app has also been refreshed.
Another new feature for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 is Focus Mode. This new feature allows users to enable only notifications from apps they deem important. Apple has provided presets like Driving, Fitness, Games, Mindfulness, Reading, etc. However, users can also customize their own Focus mode. Other users will know if users have Focus Mode turned on, as apps like Messages will display a notification.
Apple has also redesigned the notification center. Now, notifications will show contact photos and larger app icons that will make it easier for users to tell them apart. There is also a new feature called Notification Summary which can be scheduled. The Cupertino-based tech giant has also reworked Apple Maps. Safari also gets a new tab bar at the bottom, tab groups, extensions, and voice search.
