3 iPhone features that really matter to Apple users

Are you ready for September 12? On that day, which happens to be a Wednesday, Apple will unveil a host of new gadgets and devices, and you can read a lot about the whole thing here.

In summary, we’re expecting a few new and/or updated iPhones, along with the debut of an updated MacBook and maybe even an Apple Watch. We may also see AirPods, a new MacBook Pro and yes, iOS 12.

Depending on what you’re a fan of or maybe even crave, there’s no doubt that some reveals will excite you more than others. But in general, there are certain things that people seem to be most ready to watch.

The poll says…

The folks at USA Today teamed up with Survey Monkey to ask nearly 1,700 adults what really matters to them when it comes to Apple’s upcoming reveals. The survey was conducted online between August 17 and 21, with each participant being an adult living in the United States.

You may disagree with the results, but chances are you have similar feelings. What do people most hope to see when Apple unveils its new products?

Topping the list of features people were most looking forward to was longer battery life, which came in at 75%. This was followed by people who wanted a shatterproof glass display, who got 66% of the vote.

Forty-four percent said they would like expandable storage, which Apple never offered.

It’s not all that people are looking forward to – or looking for

Other features that respondents would like to see are the ability to charge the phone while listening through headphones. In total, 39% want it. In the same vein, 37% of respondents would not mind the return of the headphone jack.

Another 29% would like to see the Lightning port disappear and be replaced by a USB-C connector, while 19% want an improved FaceID recognition system.

A lower percentage, 18 to be exact, of people wouldn’t mind a faster refresh rate for apps. Another 10% want Apple to get rid of the notch that came on top of the iPhone X.

Choose one thing

This part of the survey looked at what people want from new devices, with plenty of options to choose from. But when asked to pick just one new feature, better battery won out with 38% of votes.

A shatterproof screen was second, with 24%. What would you like to see the most?
